Overview

LeadMonitor ("we", "us", "our") provides a web application and Chrome browser extension that helps users monitor Facebook groups for relevant posts. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you connect your Facebook account we receive a short-lived access token issued by Facebook — we never receive or store your Facebook password.

Facebook Group Content

The Chrome extension reads publicly visible post text from Facebook group pages you are a member of while you are browsing. This text is sent to our servers solely to match it against the monitoring criteria you have defined. We do not read private messages, your personal profile, or any content outside of group feeds.

Usage Data

We collect basic usage information such as which monitors you create and when scans occur. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.

How We Use Your Data

To provide the lead monitoring and notification service
To send you email alerts when a matching post is found
To process subscription payments via Stripe
To respond to support requests

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Chrome Extension Permissions

The LeadMonitor extension requests the following permissions:

facebook.com — to read group feed posts on pages you navigate to
leadmonitor.net — to send extracted post data to our servers and retrieve your monitor configuration
storage — to save your API key locally in the browser so you don't have to re-enter it
alarms — to schedule periodic scans in the background
scripting / tabs — to inject the content script into Facebook group pages

The extension only activates on facebook.com/groups/* pages. It does not run on any other website.

Data Retention

Scraped post text and matched leads are stored for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual leads from your dashboard at any time. If you delete your account all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate LeadMonitor:

Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
Anthropic Claude — AI matching of posts to your criteria (anthropic.com/privacy)
Resend — transactional email delivery (resend.com/privacy)

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We take reasonable measures to protect your data but no internet transmission is 100% secure.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@leadmonitor.net. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email if we make material changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
